About Ruskin College
Ruskin College is a residential college based on two sites on Oxford. Since its foundation in 1899, it has had close links with the trade union and labour movement and seeks to provide an opportunity for interested women and men to reach their full potential where they have missed out before.
PCS offers one scholarship each year to attend Ruskin College, Oxford.
The full-time residential course allows participants to work towards a certificate in higher education. This is equivalent to 120 cats points (transferable university level credits) and provides 2nd year entry for most degree courses for those who wish to pursue their education further.
You choose from a range of core and complementary modules each term. Subjects available with the certificate include; creative writing, English studies, law, sociology, women's studies, computing, and youth and community work.
What the scholarship covers
The scholarship provides £1000 to the successful candidate to assist with personal expenditure (eg. books, travel etc.). The costs of tuition, board and accommodation are free to students who qualify for the adult education bursary.
You do not need any formal entry qualifications. Ruskin Collge is equipped to deal with members with both physical and learning disabilities.
Please note that the courses at Ruskin College which PCS normally supports will not be running until 2014. We have to provide further information about these later in the year.
