PCS remain opposed to the HMRC office closure and redundancy programme as new government hub announced for Edinburgh

12 Jul 2017

The Government Property Unit has acquired two linked buildings at New Waverley Place for a new government hub. HMRC will occupy 90% of the space with 2600 staff and other Government Departments will also be present, although there are no details on which ones as yet.

The office will be a new build – in one of the most expensive real estate locations in Europe – and HMRC senior management expect the first staff to move in in the summer of 2020
