PCS will again play a major part in this year’s trade union week, which will run between 13 -16 November.
This event, now in its fourth year, provides an opportunity for PCS members to enjoy events and activities organised by their trade union working within trade union side. Please make every effort to join in the fun and bring colleagues along too.
The Welsh Government recognises the importance and value of trade union membership and non-members will be encouraged to come along to learn about the benefits of joining a union. Reps will be on hand to answer questions, share information, offer advice and explain the role of trade unions in the workplace.
Building on the success of previous years trade union week 2018 will feature various stalls and guest speaker events, which will be linked via video conference across the Welsh Government estate. Many events are scheduled during the lunchtime period and all colleagues are encouraged to attend as part of their normal working day. Confirmed events so far include:
- Mark Serwotka - general secretary PCS union gold badge ceremony;
- Health and wellbeing sessions - including blood pressure checks and support to give up smoking ;
- Lighthouse Finance - 1:1 financial sessions;
- Learn about becoming a dementia friend;
- Fun quiz night;
- Raffles and cake sales ;
- Pudsey Bear will also be joining us again this year.
If there is a stall or event that you would like included in your area please get in touch via your local PCS rep or the TUS.PostBox@gov.wales.
Further information on events, activities and stalls will be available soon, so please keep an eye on the intranet update page for information on trade union week 2018.
Please come along and support your union –- miss it, miss out.
