Attend a members' meeting and get your questions answered

If your branch is holding a meeting on the consultative ballot it’s your chance to have your questions answered about the ballot and the next steps in the campaign.

The consultative ballot is an opportunity for members to have their voices heard on the union's strategy on our campaign. Branches are being asked to hold meetings so that members can be fully informed about the planned next steps in the campaign.

Check with your local reps to see if your branch is holding a meeting. If not, you can ask your local reps to organise one. It doesn’t have to be a formal affair, just an opportunity for reps and members alike to seek clarity on anything of which they’re unsure.

Think about questions you may want to ask in advance of the meeting, or consider putting these to your reps ahead of time to give them the opportunity to get more information.

We encourage branches to try and make the meetings as inclusive as possible; think about different shift or working patterns and offer refreshments if you’re holding meetings over break times. Read our guide on inclusive meetings.
