Join our Green Forum, Organising for National Climate Week and Green Bargaining

All green reps, and other reps covering green issues, are invited to join a special online Green Forum on Wednesday 10 April from 12-1pm

This special forum is being held to bring reps together who are interested in helping to organise and build for PCS's National Climate Change Week, 23 to 27 September. We will discuss proposals for the overarching theme, promotion across the union, supporting resources and activities during the week itself.

Following the launch of the first climate change week in April 2023, we want this year’s climate week to be bigger and help establish it as an annual event on the union’s calendar.

The dates have been chosen to link in with the National Climate Week in New York which is held with the United Nations and coincides with the UN’s Summit of the Future high level event.

As in 2023, the aim of the week will be about raising awareness and educating members on climate and environmental issues across the union and why this is a trade union issue. For example by highlighting how the energy, climate and cost of living crises connect to issues of low pay, and therefore are central to our wider industrial aims.

A second theme of the special green forum will be to look at green bargaining and building our demands on PCS employers for future-proofed, climate safe, and healthy workplaces.

Climate change is a trade union issue. Get involved to help shape the union’s response.
