The government says it intends to change the rules to force civil servants to follow ministerial decisions which go against the European Court of Human Rights.
Staff at the Northern Ireland Civil Service will join thousands of other public sector workers across health, education and public transport in a walkout on Thursday 18 January as part of ongoing pay disputes in the region.
Peter Mandelson made his comments during a media interview on Tuesday (9).
TUC Congress affirmed its support for the Ukrainian people and solidarity to Ukrainian trade unionists.
The TUC noted that the Covid-19 enquiry has revealed serious failings in the government’s readiness and response to the pandemic and deep structural inequalities.
