We campaign to secure maximum protection of redundancy rights and eradicate age discrimination.

In an era of austerity and swingeing cuts, making sure members who lose their jobs at least get a decent pay-off is more vital than ever.

That's why PCS has been fighting tooth and nail to protect your terms and conditions – and has so far fended off Tory attempts to water them down.

In 2016, the government tried to change the Civil Service Compensation Scheme (CSCS), slashing redundancy pay by 33%.

To date, PCS campaigning has prevented this from happening.

We first halted the plans in 2017 after bringing a judicial review on the government's lack of consultation.

The plans are now on hold until December 2021 – but the Tories are determined to press ahead.

Now, we are demanding:

  • No cuts or further threats to redundancy rights
  • The continuation of protection under the existing 2010 terms
  • An end to age discrimination tapering for those over 57
  • A guarantee of no compulsory redundancies.

The more people who take part in our campaign, the more effective it will be.
