Our vision and goals
PCS is here to represent you, our members, individually and collectively. To advance and protect your interests wherever you work across the civil service and related areas. We are your first line of defence in the workplace.
PCS is a democratic union which regularly consults with you, our members, and your representatives, to ensure that the union prioritises your needs, concerns and aspirations, and campaigns on issues that you decide are important.
We want a voice in every workplace, so we can negotiate with employers from a position of strength and with the full support of members.
We are committed to building the strength of our union, by growing our membership and increasing the participation of our members.
We are also committed to increasing workplace organisation and density, and increasing the diversity of our reps in our democratic structures at every level. Every member has a part to play and we encourage you to get involved within PCS.
Our industrial objectives and campaign aims are to:
- Win the best possible deals for members on pay, terms and conditions
- Gain much-needed, long-term investment in public services
- Work to improve the pay and working lives of our members.
We are committed to fighting for justice and equality, both in the UK and internationally.
We actively oppose all forms of prejudice, harassment and oppression on any grounds, and work closely with other trade unions, campaign groups and non-governmental organisations to make positive changes to the world we live in.
We continually review our structures and ways of working, in order to learn from digital insights and ensure that PCS is in the best shape to deal with the challenges we face.
We are accessible and inclusive and fully support all our members and reps.
