PCS People
PCS People is our members' magazine. Published three times a year, it has a lively mixture of news, features, competitions and members' stories reflecting your interests, experiences and concerns.
Issue 1 of 2026
Read the latest issue of our members’ magazine PCS People, which focuses on how PCS members – and the public – have been betrayed by privatisation, particularly the failures of outsourcing firms Capita and MyCSP which have left civil service pension scheme members in hardship and distress.
Our lead story on the civil service pensions crisis looks at the fiasco in the administration of the pension scheme since it was taken over by Capita in December 2025, and the actions we are taking to push for improvements and justice for scheme members. There’s a series of hard-hitting case studies from pension scheme members who explain the impact of the crisis on their lives.
There is also an article on our voice in the UK’s parliaments, with details of how PCS has been busy promoting our policies and gaining support for disputes in Westminster, the Senedd, Holyrood and Stormont.
Read the latest columns by our general secretary Fran Heathcote and our president Martin Cavanagh. Fran writes about our campaign on pensions, amid Labour's promises and failures on outsourcing, and the implications of the Employment Rights Act. And Martin writes about why it is so important that we stand together against racism and the far right.
There’s a round-up of what our equality networks have been doing and how you can get involved by adding your voice.
There are lots of other interesting and informative articles inside, including:
- A win in the courts for Pensions Regulator reps
- A groundbreaking campaign win over home working for ONS members.
- A Me and My Job interview with Xavier, a conciliator at the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas), which provides advice and aims to help resolve workplace disputes.
