A message from our general secretary

Mark Serwotka explains that we will do all we can to ensure members' terms and conditions and their futures are looked after wherever they work in the civil service and related areas.

By joining PCS you will have somebody to help and support you, and look after your interests at work.

We are here for your individual problems, but also work collectively on issues like your pay, pension, and terms and conditions. Being in a union makes us all stronger.

Membership gives you a collective ability to ensure that you are well represented, and the more people who join us the more we can make the government and employers listen to our demands.

PCS members organise together to defend and advance their interests.

We negotiate with government ministers and employers on a whole range of issues, including on your pay, pension, work-life balance and home-working. We are also campaigning for greater equality and diversity.

In your workplace, if you’ve got any problems, you can go to your local rep. You can talk to them and get advice and they can take up issues on your behalf with your managers.

While we are the UK’s leading union in embracing digital technology, we are only relevant if we listen to you and your colleagues as trade union members. We are only ever as strong as our membership.

I hope you join and get involved in PCS. I hope you consider becoming a rep in the time ahead.

Together we are stronger.
