Final call for AGMs

Most PCS branches will by now have held their AGMs, with officers and reps elected for the coming year and motions submitted to conference, but there’s still time to get involved if yours hasn’t happened yet.

The deadline for PCS branches to hold their annual general meeting is Thursday 7 March. Although motions must have been submitted to your branch secretary by now, you can still take part in PCS’s democratic process.

The AGM is the most important event in the branch’s calendar; it’s where the people who represent you and your colleagues are elected and where your branch votes on issues that are important to you, your colleagues and the union as a whole.

The AGM gives every PCS member a voice regarding decisions that are made about them, and every member’s vote is equal. Workplace democracy is the cornerstone of the trade union movement and that’s nowhere more obvious than at the AGM.

Attend your AGM

Your branch should have advertised the time and location of your AGM, but if you haven’t seen the notice you can contact your branch secretary. You can find their information by logging in to PCS Digital and selecting My Details > My Branch Committee at the top of the page.
