G4S in DWP members meeting
GMB union is balloting G4S members working on the DWP contract in response to the imposition of an unacceptable pay offer. PCS will hold a G4S members' meeting on 3 April.
Role for DWP branches in delivering the ballot
PCS has had meetings with GMB officials in relation to their ballot. We have agreed that we will do everything we can to assist our sister union in achieving an excellent turnout in the ballot. We are therefore asking branches to speak to G4S security guards working in their workplaces and if they are GMB members ensure that they participate in the GMB ballot.
PCS members meetings
Whilst GMB is the union recognised by G4S, PCS still has a significant membership with this employer on this contract. We have already held two members meetings with G4S members. We intend to hold another meeting on Wednesday 3 April at 9:00am to build further amongst our G4S members to a position where we can also ballot for strike action.
