Have your say on the 2024 Facilities Management Pay Claim

Your representatives are conducting a consultation exercise for PCS members employed in outsourced Facilities Management (FM) roles on your 2024 pay demands.

Attend a meeting to have your say

The consultation exercise starts on 30 January and ends on 8 February 2024 and will consist of four Zoom meetings to hear your views – see meeting dates and online link below:

Tuesday 30 January from 1-2pm

Tuesday 30 January from 8-9pm

Wednesday 31 January from 7-8pm

Thursday 8 February from 12-1pm

There is one Zoom link for all four meetings.

Meeting ID: 895 4944 8365

Passcode: 661704

We want to hear from all PCS members working as caterers, cleaners, maintenance, porters, receptionists, security guards and all other facilities roles employed on outsourced UK civil service, Metropolitan Police and museum and gallery contracts.

After the consultation exercise

After we have received your feedback, PCS’s national executive committee (NEC) will consider your views before finalising the claim and submitting it to your employer, regardless of whether your employer recognises PCS or not.

Complete the FM cost-of-living survey.

We are also running our second, annual FM cost of living survey to understand your lived experience of pay across the FM sector.

Last year, you told us inflation greatly decreased your living standards. Particularly as many of you were forced to use the bulk of your wages on household essentials such as rising food, housing, transport, fuel and energy costs. Meanwhile, FM companies continued to prioritise profits over people. This must change. Collectively we have the best chance of securing a pay rise that allows you to maintain your living standards.

We will compare this year’s results with the 2023 FM pay survey’s results, to identify trends and assess whether the pay situation for FM members has improved. The anonymous survey results will provide vital information for the pay negotiations.

What you can do

  • Attend one of the FM pay consultation meetings and bring a colleague with you.
  • Complete the FM cost of living survey and share the link with your work mates.
  • Encourage a colleague who is not yet a member to join PCS today.
