New Proud National Committee elected
The results of the elections were announced at the Extraordinary General Meeting on 13 February.
The Proud National Committee (PNC) Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) took place on 13 February via Zoom.
The results of the elections for the new PNC were announced at the meeting:
- Chair - Saorsa Tweedale
- Secretary - Liat Norris
- Organiser (Campaign & Communications) - Yemisi Ilesanmi
- Organiser (Membership & Admin) - Jordan David
- Treasurer - Nic Jeffreys
- Women’s Rep - Rose Baker
- Trans Rep - Finn Weldin
- Disability Rep - Heledd Muir-McCann
Congratulations to all members of the new Proud Network.
The guest speaker at the EGM was Lloyd Russell-Moyle MP who talked about his work on a Bill on banning conversion therapy. The second reading started on Friday 1 March 2024 and the debate will be resumed Friday 15 March.
Members of the new Proud Network also debated two motions, one to agree the TUC LGBT+ conference delegation and one on a new Proud constitution.
PCS and the new PNC are now working on implementing the motions carried and are looking ahead to developing successful working relationships for the future.
