PCS campaign continues – have your say

We want to hear your views on how we take our campaign forward.

The PCS national executive committee (NEC) met yesterday (14) to discuss the next steps in our national campaign. As part of our ongoing campaign of all-out and targeted strike action the UK Government was forced to make concessions on pay and redundancy terms and committed to a series of talks on job security, low pay and pay coherence.

We will be in the Court of Appeal on 20 February to fight our case on pensions.

Our pay demands for 2024/25 to the UK government include:

  • a cost-of-living rise, plus pay restoration for previous years
  • pay equality across departments on the best possible terms,
  • a living wage of £15 per hour,
  • London weighting provision of a minimum £5,000 per year,
  • 35 days annual leave minimum,
  • a significant shortening of the working week with no loss of pay.

We want to hear your views on our campaign and on what you are prepared to do to ensure the government commits to our demands. We will be sending an email to all members with a personalised survey link. Please ensure you complete the survey so that we can gauge membership support . The consultation will run from 20 February to 5 March.

Members in the Scottish devolved sector are currently in a two-year pay deal, so the questions we ask them will be slightly different there than in other areas.

The NEC will look at the survey results and make any necessary decisions at its meeting in March. It is likely that strike action will be part of our campaign and it is essential that you ensure your details (particularly ballot address, email and workplace) are up to date on PCS Digital.
