PCS slams John Glen over working from home jibes

PCS told the minister for the Cabinet Office to concentrate on improving our members’ pay and conditions after he criticised civil servants for "still working from home too much" and “languishing in lockdown habits for too long.”

The comments were made by John Glen MP in a column for the Evening Standard.

PCS General Secretary Fran Heathcote said: “Our members worked hard throughout the pandemic and continue to work hard now.

“There’s no evidence that working from home lessens productivity. In fact, many people say it makes them more productive because they have a better work-life balance and begin work feeling fresher because they haven’t had a stressful commute.

“John Glen should concentrate on improving our members’ pay and working conditions rather than make political attacks on the very people that keep his government running.”

Help support our campaign for fair pay by voting in our national ballot.

When you’ve completed and posted your ballot paper, log into PCS Digital and tell us you’ve voted. This will help us keep track of how many members are voting to ensure that we achieve the required 50% turnout, and we can work on reminding members who haven’t voted.
