There's a range of events and meetings for PCS members to get involved in this week, both online and in person.

PCS supporting anti-racism marches on 16 and 17 March

PCS general secretary Fran Heathcote will speak at a London rally on 16 March on the union's opposition to the politics of racism, division and hate.


Special national campaign issue of Activate out now

A special national campaign issue of Activate, the online magazine for PCS activists, has been sent out to all reps and advocates.


PCS hosting trade union conference on Myanmar

A special solidarity conference with the Myanmar unions will take place on Saturday 20 April between 12pm and 5pm


Outsourced facilities workers need Labour’s New Deal

On 12 March, PCS will be supporting a joint lobby of MPs calling on the Labour Party to honour its New Deal for Working People, if elected to government.


Women's History Month Event

11 March: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

This event is intended to be empowering, inspiring and uplifting for our women members and reps. 


DWP Regional Roadshows

14- 19 March: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

The DWP group executive committee has agreed to run a series of region and nations roadshows for activists in support of the national campaign and the DWP staffing campaign.


Ukraine delegation - report back

15 March: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

To discover what that delegation did and what life is like in that country under war conditions, we have arranged a lunchtime online meeting for a delegation member to report back. 


Understanding Disability In The Equality Act 2010


12 March: 10am – 4pm

This is a 1 day virtual course for PCS reps who regularly represent members in disciplinary or grievance cases and negotiate with management. 


Handling Complex Issues

12 - 26 February: 10am – 4pm

This course is aimed at more experienced reps. It focuses on Conduct & Discipline, Bullying/Harassment, Discrimination, Attendance& ‘Efficiency’ issues. 


Combatting Domestic Abuse


13 March: 9am – 3pm

This short course is aimed at PCS reps and will assist you in developing a better understanding of domestic abuse issues.


Workplace Reps: Essential Building Blocks


14 - 28 March: 9:30am – 4pm

This course is aimed at newly-appointed reps and union advocates. It will give you the skills and knowledge to effectively represent your members. 


Advocates Next Steps


14 March: 12pm – 1pm

This is a 1 hour virtual course for all members who are interested in getting more involved in the union, and who have completed an initial advocate induction in your branch.
