What happens after the ballot closes?

As our online consultative ballot closes on Thursday 31 August, find out what will happen next.

Our online consultative ballot about the future of our campaign on pay, pensions, job security and redundancy terms closes at 12 noon on Thursday 31 August.

When voting has closed, we will receive the results from Civica, the independent scrutineer, after they have verified the figures and done all the necessary checks.

The national executive committee will then meet in early September (6 and 7) to take a detailed look at voting in the ballot and decide what happens next, taking into account the latest developments in talks with employers.  Some pay offers for 2023/24 have already been made by individual departments and more are still under discussion and negotiation.
