Get involved at the Proud Extraordinary General Meeting

The meeting will debate motions on the future of Proud, PCS’s LGBT+ committee, and hold elections.

To improve engagement with our LGBT+ members and to take forward a motion passed at conference, the Proud national committee (PNC) will hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on Wednesday 13 December from 6-7:30 pm on Zoom.

At our annual conference this year, motion A293 was passed, instructing the national executive committee to ask all members to update their equality data on our membership database and register for membership of Proud and the other national equality networks. LGBT+ members were then to be invited to an Extraordinary General Meeting to debate the future of Proud as well as allowing for the election of a new Proud National Committee.

A briefing was issued to branches on 20 October with information about the EGM, the text of motion A293 and timetable.

Register to be part of the Proud network.

If you wish to stand for any positions on the national committee please read the regulations carefully and refer to the timeline. You can nominate yourself for any of the twelve positions on the committee. Completed nomination forms must be received by the equality department no later than 7 November.

If you wish to submit a motion to be debated at the EGM, complete the motions form and return it to equality@pcs.org.ukno later than 5.00 pm on Wednesday 29 November 2023.

The EGM agenda and how to register for the Zoom meeting will be sent out nearer the time.
