PCS to host Fringe Events at Labour Party Conference
One focuses on what a Labour government would do to solve the cost-of-living crisis, the second is on Safe Passage for refugees:

Older workers: promoting dignity, celebrating resilience
An online meeting open to all PCS members will be held on Friday 13 October, with guest speakers on older workers, women’s equality and migrants’ rights.

ISS members continue with industrial action
PCS members working for the outsourced facilities management company ISS will take further Industrial action next week (9-13 October)
Sober October is a chance to cut down or give up alcohol for the whole month, with support from peers and a great chance to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Workplace Reps: Essential Building Blocks - Cymru/Wales region
9 October - 20 November: 9:30am – 4pm
This course is aimed at newly-appointed reps and union advocates. It will give you the skills and knowledge to effectively represent your members
11 October: 10am – 12pm
Introductory session to familiarise new Branch Treasurers with the basics of the role and duties
11 October: 12pm – 1pm
The aim of this session is to continue to develop the skills of union advocates who have begun to carry out the role' and to give them confidence in talking to members to help build the union.
Tackling Stress as a Trade Union Issue
12 October: 10am – 4pm
This short course will look at some union campaigning and negotiating strategies which say - No to “Resilience”….Yes to PCS members standing together to reduce harmful Stress at Work
