This week PCS is holding a series of introductory courses on a range of topics. With the general secretary and assistant general secretary elections now underway, we want members to have their say and get involved in the unions democratic process.

General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary elections

The process to elect our next general secretary and assistant general secretary is underway. Branches are invited to make nominations for candidates. 


PCS at TUC Congress in Liverpool

Our delegation, led by PCS President Fran Heathcote, is heading to Liverpool this weekend for the 155th TUC Congress. We are holding a fringe meeting at 12.45pm on Tuesday (12). 


PCS Young Members Seminar - Ready to fight for their futures

LSE Women's Network - Coffee Morning

11 September: 10am – 11am

London and the Southeast Women's network is having a virtual coffee morning. The event is being held via Teams, Come along for an informal chat about the issues of the day. 


Safe Passage for Refugees: PCS TUC Fringe event

12 September: 12:45am – 2pm

The event will be chaired by PCS national president Fran Heathcote and speakers include: Mark Serwotka, PCS general secretary; Clare Moseley, founder of Care4Calais; Weyman Bennett, Stand up to Racism.


British Sign Language ('taster' session)

12 September: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

This bitesize session is an opportunity for members and reps to learn the basic principles of British Sign Language, as well as to learn how to sign some simple words.


Neurodiversity in the Workplace stage 1

13 - 14 September: 9:30am – 4:30pm

Sign up for our two day course and become a PCS Neurodiversity Champion.


Organising & Industrial Relations

13 - 27 September: 10am – 4pm

Sign up to this three day course to get more involved in building the union. This course is not just for Branch Organisers - it's for all activists!


Advocates Next Steps

14 September: 12pm – 1pm

The aim of this session is to continue to develop the skills of union advocates who have begun to carry out the role' and to give them confidence in talking to members to help build the union.


Workplace Reps: Essential Building Blocks

15 - 20 September: 10am – 4pm

This course is aimed at newly-appointed reps and union advocates. It will give you the skills and knowledge to effectively represent your members, covering organising, campaigning, negotiating, equality, and more.
