Building a sense of community for young members
Patrick writes about building a sense of community
Since becoming convenor for young members in the north west last year, my goal has been to build a sense of community.
I want to ensure that PCS isn’t just there for people going through hard times, but that PCS is also there for good times. So, in the north west we arrange monthly socials, alternating between Liverpool and Manchester.
With more and more uncertainty and difficulties in everyday life, it can be hard for people to make time to find and form friendships with likeminded people. So our socials are for any civil servants aged 27 and under.
We hope to provide opportunities to educate people and get them more involved in PCS, but most importantly the aim is for people to build friendships and enjoy themselves.
We have a regular group of attendees and are always looking for more. Please get in touch with me on 07531454584 if you're interested.
