GCHQ Trade Union Ban 40th Anniversary Exhibition
PCS is hosting an exhibition, open to the public, to celebrate the historic struggle that saw a small group of brave workers, with the support of the wider movement, defend their right to be a member of a trade union.
Visit the exhibit to see how the GCHQ union ban was imposed by an anti-worker Conservative government and how it was subsequently opposed by brave GCHQ workers over a 15-year period before the ban was eventually overturned.
The story is told through a film especially commissioned by PCS to mark the 40th anniversary along with a visual timeline of the historic campaign.
Some of the original campaign materials and documents relating to the ban will also be on display.
