National Housing Demonstration

Everyone

PCS is supporting a national housing demonstration in London on Saturday 18 April, organised by a broad coalition of more than 70 organisations calling for urgent action to address the housing crisis. With rents rising far faster than wages and secure, genuinely affordable homes increasingly out of reach, the current system is failing working people.

The demonstration will call for rent controls to prevent further unaffordable increases, and for significant central government investment in new and improved council housing. These measures are essential to ensuring everyone has access to a safe, stable and affordable place to live.

The march begins at 1pm in Soho Square Gardens, Central London. Coach travel is available from several cities, with tickets offered on a sliding scale (unwaged, low‑waged, waged).

PCS encourages members to attend and show collective support for the call for fair rents, secure homes and a housing system that works for everyone.
