To celebrate International Women's Day, PCS north west women's network has organised this event covering the long history of feminist anti fascism - and why it is important to state that anti-fascism has always been women's business.

Fascism invariably itself presents as macho in the extreme: tough guys swaggering around in militaristic unforms. For women, it claims to offer protection, as long as we behave ourselves and retreat into kids, kitchen and church.

Yet Britain's strongest early voices against fascism were female.

Dr Louise Raw, historian, trade unionist and founder of Survivors against Fascism will discuss how the far right do not protect women and girls.

Come along to find out more, as we are in the fight of our lives; led by the examples of our anti-fascist foremothers, we can and must win.
