Announcement on the national strike levy
The PCS national executive committee voted at its meeting this morning to pause the national strike levy.
PCS General Secretary Fran Heathcote would like to thank all the members who wrote into her, whether that was as an individual, on behalf of their branch or group, for taking the time to write to her and enable her to put a recommendation to the NEC today which has led to the pausing of the levy.
The NEC voted by 25 votes to 8 for the levy to be paused.
Due to administrative processes, the last levy payment will be collected on 3 March, with no further payments taken after that date.

If you know someone who has resigned from the union because of the decision to continue the levy, please ask them to rejoin us.
We need to be as strong as possible for all of the challenges we have ahead of us. And as Fran explained in her video yesterday, we still want all members to play a part in our democratic processes. So, whether that’s going to your branch annual general meeting and voting on motions there, or voting in the NEC elections in April, all that helps our union to remain healthy and vibrant.
