International Women’s Day 2026 Events in Northern Ireland

There will be a series of events to mark International Women’s Day, which takes place on Sunday 8 March.

The centrepiece is the annual International Women’s Day rally which takes off from Writers Square on Donegall Street in Belfast on Saturday 7 March at 11:30am. The event will be supported by trade unions including PCS, alongside political parties and women’s groups.

In preparation, Reclaim the Agenda will host Placards and Prep on Wednesday 4 March at Paragon Studios on Rosemary Street from 6pm to 8pm where participants can make placards for use in the rally.

Earlier that day, Maternal Advocacy and Support will host their event at 2 Royal Avenue. Looking after mothers is essential for the health of the child but we do not have any dedicated facility here in NI to accommodate and support maternal mental health so come along to find out more and see what we can do collectively to create a better system for mums.

And on Monday 9 March, the Irish Congress of Trade Unions and Congress Women’s Committee will be hosted at Parliament Buildings for an event on the Good Jobs Bill and the positive changes it will make to the lives of working women.
