Join PCS at Civil Service Live events
Civil Service Live is the nationwide touring conference for civil servants. While Scotland events have already taken place, the dates for England, Wales and Northern Ireland run from July until next spring.
As the largest civil service trade union, PCS will be present at each Civil Service Live event to recruit colleagues and engage members. The aims of the Civil Service Live events are to educate, engage and empower. These are aims which are enhanced by trade union membership and activism.
Union representation in the civil service gives workers a direct voice and holds managers accountable where necessary. It can build stronger workplaces, and can be the only effective means for workers to campaign for better resourcing and resist threats to pay and conditions.
Already at the Scotland event in Edinburgh last week (10 June), many non-members were keen to join and showed particular interest in union education and PCS’s political work. Also, it was a great opportunity to connect with existing members.
When and where
The staffed PCS stall will be at all of the planned Civil Service Live dates. The national events in London are: 1 and 15 July 2026 at Excel International Conference Centre.
Regional events are scheduled for:
Newcastle: Wednesday 30 September 2026 (Newcastle United Football Club)
Exeter: Wednesday 14 October 2026 (Sandy Park Conference Centre)
Cardiff: Wednesday 25 November 202 (Cardiff City Stadium)
Manchester: Wednesday 13 January 2027 (Manchester Central)
Belfast: Thursday 4 February 2027 (Assembly Buildings Conference Centre)
Leeds: Wednesday 24 March 2027 (University of Leeds)
Birmingham: Wednesday 26 May 2027 (Eastside Rooms).
As workers and senior managers talk about the issues affecting the civil service and about its future, it is important that PCS represents the interests of civil service workers. If you’re planning to attend an event, come and say hello.
