Ask your MP to help protect outsourced workers at the National Crime Agency
A planned restructure threatens the jobs, terms and conditions of PCS members employed by OCS as security guards.
The National Crime Agency (NCA) plays a vital role in protecting the UK from serious and organised crime.
Frontline security for the NCA has largely been delivered through an outsourced model, involving several external providers, including OCS Group UK Limited. Outsourcing often results in unclear accountability, inconsistent standards, and concerns about fairness and treatment.
At the NCA’s Vauxhall site, OCS security guards - many on long-standing civil service-equivalent terms - were left in place when NCA staff were relocated to Stratford. New staff were then recruited at Stratford on inferior terms. The Vauxhall guards now face redundancy, despite their experience and high-level Developed Vetting (DV) clearance, or the option of applying for roles that they have carried out for years, on inferior terms, at Stratford.
Betrayed and abandoned
One serving officer of 20 years said: “This entire situation has left me feeling deeply betrayed and abandoned after years of loyal service. We have been kept in the dark, given mixed messages, and now face the possibility of losing our terms and conditions and being forced to reapply for the same job we have already been doing with professionalism and commitment. The uncertainty is not just emotional it is affecting my financial stability. If I lose my current contract and protections, I will struggle to keep up with my living costs and essential bills. The stress, anxiety, and sense of being treated as disposable are overwhelming, and no worker should ever be put in this position.”
Use our e-action to write to your MP
Please use our e-action to write to your MP to highlight that:
- Cost-cutting in outsourced contracts is taking priority over experience and safety.
- Highly experienced, DV-cleared guards with decades of service are being replaced by less experienced staff, potentially putting NCA security at risk.
