DWP Consultative ballot - Pay day and members' meetings

Today is the first payday of the 2025-26 pay offer. Members will be feeling the strain on finances with the imposition for many of 60% office attendance at the beginning of the September whilst Jobcentre members have no access to hybrid working.

Many thanks to the thousands of members who have already voted in the consultative ballot for industrial action on this year’s pay offer. We still need as many members as possible to vote in the ballot so we can send a really powerful message to DWP that members won’t accept poverty pay or be the poor relations of the civil service.

Please read DWP group president Angela Grant’s blog explaining how low pay impacts members and why she wants you to vote in this ballot.

Ballot reminders

If you haven’t voted already, you will get a reminder email on 1 October to your personal email address from [email protected]. Please look out for it if you haven’t voted and check your junk, spam, and deleted folders because it may have ended up there.

You will also receive a text message tomorrow from 07380 641055 notifying you that we have resent the voting email.

If you haven’t voted you may also receive a call from one of the reps in the DWP group from 0300 1316850.

Members' meetings

Today is the first pay day since the imposition of the 25/26 pay offer. At the same time many members are reckoning with the financial impact of the change from 40% to 60% office attendance. We will be having two meetings for all members on Thursday 2 October. The first is at 12:30pm and the second at 6pm. You can join either meeting by Zoom.

The meetings will discuss the ballot and its extension to 10 October as well as the impact on the finances of members by the imposition of 60% office attendance and the lack of flexibility for Jobcentre staff.

Get 50% to beat 60%

Getting over 50% in this ballot will strengthen our ability to change the 60% office attendance requirement for non-customer facing staff and improve flexibility in office attendance for all.
