PCS and ISS are running a pilot course of English classes for ISS employees who do not speak English as your first language. The initiative is supported by the Cabinet Office's Government Property Agency (GPA).

Learn at work - on full pay

The classes will be held in Whitehall (3-8 Whitehall Place) and 10 South Colonnade in Canary Wharf.

The initial pilot course will be 20 hours, and start in mid-January. It will run as two-hour weekly classes over 10 weeks.

If you register you will be released to attend each class, and paid in full for your shift. If you work evening shifts, you will be compensated by ISS.

How to find out more / register

If you are interested in finding out more, complete ISS's online registration form. Ask your supervisor or PCS union rep if you have not been sent the link.

An English tutor will contact you to arrange a 30-minute meeting. This is to assess your English speaking and listening skills. The assessment will take place at work.

At the end of your assessment, you can tell the tutor if you wish to attend the 10-week course which starts in January.
