FCDO2030 - Industrial Action ballot opens
The postal ballot opened on 16 March and closes on Monday 20 April. We are asking you to vote Yes for industrial action.
Vote - and vote YES / YES
PCS's industrial action ballot on FCDO2030 opened on Monday 16 March.
You will receive your ballot paper by post in the next couple of days. It is vital that you vote in this ballot, as we are legally required to achieve more than 50% turnout or we cannot take action.
We recommend that you vote YES to strike action and YES to action short of strike (the two questions on the ballot paper).
Collectively we need to send a powerful message to FCDO that staff oppose the job cuts, that management needs to respect trade unions and consult with us properly, and that only those who volunteer for redundancy should be exiting the organisation – we demand a "no compulsory redundancy" agreement.
Vote by POST only
This is a postal ballot. Statutory ballots for industrial action can only be done by post and there is no online voting option.
Look out for your ballot paper arriving by post this week (from 16 March).
Please complete and return it in the pre-paid envelope as soon as you can.
To be counted, your ballot paper needs to be received by Civica, the independent scrutineer, no later than noon on Monday 20 April.
Non-members must join PCS by 12 noon on 2 April to vote
If you know any non-members, encourage them to join PCS so they can vote.
This is also the deadline for members to request a replacement ballot paper.
Parliamentary campaigning continues
An Early Day Motion on job cuts at the FCDO will be published soon.
To get MP support for this PCS will send you an e-action to send to your MP, this will help pile more parliamentary pressure on the senior leaders to stop what they are doing. We are trying to secure a parliamentary debate on FCDO job cuts and more parliamentary questions. Look out for the e-action email and send to your MP as soon as possible.
