Group elections are open

This is your chance to decide who represents you and negotiates on your behalf with your employer.

Group executive committees (GECs) are responsible for negotiating with your employer on your behalf and implementing policies that have been decided at your annual group conference.

The GEC is responsible for protecting and promoting the interests of members, organising branches, recruiting and retaining members, and organising campaigns specific to the group. The GEC may also lead on negotiations with employers and GEC members may have different responsibilities, for example a group equalities officer.

Your GEC is elected annually by all members in the group.

The online ballot to choose your GEC opened yesterday (23 April) and closes at noon on Tuesday 12 May.

Devolved nation groups

The elections in the Scotland and Wales devolved sectors run to the same timetable as employer groups and are also electronic ballots.

How to vote

You should have received an email to your personal email address with voting instructions. The email will have come from the independent scrutineers and will include a two-part security code.

Members that have not provided PCS with a personal e-mail address will be sent a letter to their ballot address containing voting instructions and a two-part security code so they can vote online via the independent scrutineers’ website.

You can read candidates’ election addresses and find more information about the elections in your employer group on PCS Digital.
