MyCSP members to mount ‘Super Picket’

To mark the end of their sixth week of strike action, PCS members in MyCSP are holding a ‘Super Picket’ on Friday 15 August.

MyCSP, the company administering around 1.7 million civil service pensions, has lost the contract, and the work is being transferred to the outsourcing giant, Capita, under the ‘Transfer of Undertakings’ regulations (“TUPE”)

PCS members in MyCSP in the Liverpool and Cheadle sites have been striking since the beginning of July, in an effort to secure union recognition and to ensure that PCS is fully involved in the TUPE talks, to protect their existing terms and conditions.

Because MyCSP is still refusing to budge, members are extending the strike to the end of September, in an effort to pressure management into seeing sense and agreeing to union recognition.

To mark the sixth week of the strike, the striking members are holding a ‘super picket’ on Friday 15 August, and are encouraging all members to come along to show their support. The picket lines will be held from 7:00-10:00 at the following sites:

  • City Square, 40 Tithebarn Street, Liverpool
  • Landmark House, Station Road, Cheadle

It would be a great boost for the strikers if you can get to your nearest picket line to show your support.

PCS responds to MyCSP ‘company-run ballot’ move

After rejecting every reasonable proposal put by PCS, MyCSP’s is suggesting that the company will run its own poll of all staff, to decide whether or not the union should be recognised, adding that they expect PCS to respect the outcome of their ballot.

As an anti-union employer, MyCSP is unlikely to organise the ballot impartially, and a real recognition ballot would need to have genuine oversight, where the union would have the opportunity to meet with all staff and explain the benefits of having a properly unionised workplace. PCS has written to the chief executive to question the validity of the poll, while making it clear we are still ready to negotiate a settlement to the dispute.

PCS launches MyCSP e-campaign

We have launched an e-campaign, where you can email the chief executive of MyCSP, calling on him to recognise PCS and to allow the union to properly represent our members in the company.

It only takes a couple of minutes to complete the e-campaign which will send a standard email to the chief executive - or you can edit it if you wish.
