National Campaign – join our Activists’ Forum
We will be holding two sessions on Tuesday 19 August to talk about how we build our national campaign.
The national executive committee (NEC) met on 23 and 24 July to consider the way forward in the national campaign in line with conference policy,
Conference policy
Motion A383, passed at our May 2025 conference, instructed the NEC to build a national campaign on the widest possible basis. It also set out a series of campaign demands and included instructions to proceed to a ballot by no later than mid-September 2025 if satisfactory progress isn’t made on our campaign demands.
Although the timetable and form of ballot are matters for the NEC, the organising and education team have been working to a mid-September timeline to get ballot ready, ensuring that all branches are in the best possible position if and when a ballot is called.
To ensure that we have the best possible chance of breaching the 50% legal threshold in any ballot, there are several ballot ready measures that must be implemented across every group and branch in the union. An all-activist forum is being held to update you on the national campaign and to discuss these ballot ready measures.
