PCS Climate Justice Week: 17 to 21 November
Climate justice is union business. and this year’s PCS Climate Justice Week has events and resources to build solidarity in your workplace and set a union-led green agenda.
First off, we’re keen to hear what people might be doing and to share those ideas in the next few weeks. Do you have plans? If so, please let us know via [email protected].
Next, we have a raft of open lunchtime sessions for each day of Climate Justice Week. They’re at staggered times to try to make them accessible for people with different lunch breaks. Feel free to invite all your colleagues, not just union members.
And we are readying flyers to email round or hand out on each day. These are an easy way to give out bite-size bits of information as well as to get members and colleagues involved. These will be available to order or to download from 3 November onwards.
- Monday 17 November, noon: The Science of Global Warming with Phil Korbel from the Carbon Literacy Project
- Tuesday 18 November, 12:30pm: The Attacks on Net Zero with Paul Atkin from the Greener Jobs Alliance
- Wednesday 19 November, 1:00pm: Green Bargaining & Workplace Action with Saul Cahill, PCS climate change executive committee
- Thursday 20 November, 1:15pm: Global Solidarity & COP30 with a speaker from War On Want
- Friday 21 November, 12:30pm: Stronger Together: Union-Led Climate Action for Everyone with Marianne Owens, PCS climate change executive committee.
In the meantime, we hope you’re able to join us, hope you can get fellow members involved, and hope you’re able to get planning or to let us know what you’ve already got in mind.
