PCS to support 2026 demo against far-right
PCS will be mobilising members to attend the Together Alliance’s national demonstration on 28 March 2026.
As a national union, PCS continues to build alliances and support affiliates to fight racism and to oppose the voices of division and hate in the UK.
Since our most recent annual delegate conference recommitted the union to fighting racism and fascism, PCS has mobilised across the country, including joining the national counter-demo to the Unite the Kingdom rally in London on 13 September - the largest ever far-right protest seen on our streets, which far outnumbered the counter-demonstration.
The far-right is increasingly visible in communities, online, and in politics. However, these voices do not represent the majority.
Launched on 2 December, ‘Together against the far-right’ seeks to unite communities, promote solidarity, and deliver a message of hope ahead of the national demonstration in London.
The campaign is backed by over 50 organisations, including the TUC, Friends of the Earth, Stand Up to Racism, Show Racism the Red Card, Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and unions like Unison and Unite.
It has the potential to be far-reaching and bring together a mass movement of anti-racist campaigners to reject narratives of division and racism; build solidarity across communities; and unite against the far right.
What members and branches can do
PCS is asking branches to support the national demonstration on 28 March by encouraging members to attend. There will be publicity materials available and online resources to assist with promotion.
Members are also encouraged to get involved with building the campaign against racism in local communities by contacting their regional secretary, who will be coordinating engagement with other local affiliates and the regional TUCs.
Funding is being made available to assist with transport from each PCS region or nation. The relevant regional or national secretary should be contacted as soon as possible if members in a branch would like to secure a place.
