100,000 civil servants – members of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union – have voted overwhelming for strike action.
The legal turnout threshold of 50% has been achieved in many areas allowing for major industrial action.
PCS is one of 12 unions bringing a legal challenge to the government’s law change which permits businesses to use agency workers to break strikes.
