Prominent activist Fiona Whyte has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list, for her voluntary service to PCS in Wales.
A former police officer who specialised in financial crimes, Rick Harrison is now with the Insolvency Service (INSS) where he covertly investigates companies suspected of wrongdoing. As a PCS rep, he’s involved in opposing plans to close 10 INSS offices, potentially putting hundreds out of work. In his free time he’s a keen biker who regularly rides for charity.
PCS and other trade unions will challenge the government’s reduction in the value of new pension schemes for civil servants and millions of public service workers in the High Court in November.
It has now been confirmed that the government has quietly changed the outcome of the 2016 pension scheme valuations which means it is making scheme members pay for the shambles it has made of their pensions.
